I am a junior sergeant of the National Guard of Ukraine. On November 10, 2022, I voluntarily went to serve. I served in the 3rd Operational Brigade named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan "Spartan." In November 2022 our unit was in the Kharkiv direction, in the area of the settlement of Veterynarne, near the border with Belgorod Oblast. Then we were pulled out for just a few days, and already on January 3 we entered Bakhmut.
In Bakhmut, a true hell began. There I sustained a through-and-through gunshot wound to the left arm… I am still very grateful to the doctors for saving my left arm. After the surgery, a long rehabilitation path began. But already in April 2023 I returned to the ranks of my unit and subsequently became a combat medic. After the Dnipropetrovsk direction, in the summer our "Spartan" Brigade headed to the Zaporizhzhia direction, where our unit participated in assaults in the area of Robotyne. There my task was to save the lives of our guys. The wounded fellow soldiers had to be dragged out on one's back. It was then that I injured my right knee. The pain became constant and very severe. Walking is difficult for me, and moving without crutches is problematic. I underwent several surgeries on the right knee, but the doctors said that the joint continues to deteriorate. In 2025 I underwent yet another surgery — arthroscopic chondroplasty using the AutoCart technology. I continue to serve, but the problem with the knee remains. The doctors say that I now need surgery — unicompartmental endoprosthetic replacement of the medial compartment of the right knee joint. The surgery will be performed free of charge, but a high-quality implant needs to be purchased. I cannot manage on my own, so I am compelled to ask for help.

Since 2018 I have been serving under contract as part of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and have the status of a combat veteran. My military path began in the Rapid Response Brigade No. 3018 of the National Guard of Ukraine in Hostomel. On February 24, 2022, we met the full-scale war in Kherson Oblast, in the area of the Oleshky Sands. Later the units moved, and we carried out missions on the territory of Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts. It was while carrying out a combat mission in Mykolaiv Oblast, in the settlement of Zelenyi Hai, that my life changed. The enemy delivered an airstrike on the school where we were located. I sustained a severe contusion of the cervical spine. Due to repeated shellings there was no opportunity to properly provide me with medical assistance, nor was there proper fixation of the sustained injury. After that I began to constantly feel pain in my neck and back, and later other health problems also began to appear… Over time the pain began to grow increasingly stronger. My left arm, shoulder, neck, and back began to trouble me particularly. The examinations revealed serious problem — pulmonary sarcoidosis, as well as extrapulmonary sarcoidosis with spinal involvement. According to the medical conclusions, the disease is in an active stage and is progressing. In parallel, the problem with the cervical spine remained. I need to have two hernias in the cervical spine removed and have special implants and the Atlantis cervical spine stabilization system, Medtronic USA, installed. This surgery can no longer be delayed for me, as it threatens complete paralysis. But I cannot pay for the necessary treatment on my own. The cost of the necessary implants, surgery, and subsequent recovery is beyond my means. That is why today I am compelled to turn to caring people and ask for support in this fight.

I am a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On March 14, 2022, I was mobilized into the military. In September 2022 our unit participated in the liberation of Balakliia, and subsequently worked near Sviatohirsk in Donetsk Oblast. In 2025 my unit was constructing fortification structures on the line of contact near Chasiv Yar. On March 4, 2025, during a raid by an enemy FPV drone, I felt something crack in my leg… Over the years of service in the engineering forces, I developed arthrosis of the large joints. For a long time the pain was simply managed with painkillers. Only in September 2025 was I diagnosed with a torn meniscus of the right knee and operated on. And already in November I was transferred to the Donetsk direction, where I continue to serve to this day. In June of this year I underwent an MRI of the knee and, on the recommendation of traumatologists, was put on the waiting list for endoprosthetic replacement of the right knee joint. I had already begun undergoing the necessary examinations, but it was at that point that the doctors discovered yet another serious problem — with the hip joint. Their conclusion was unambiguous: the only thing that can help is its replacement.
Now I first need to undergo endoprosthetic replacement of the hip joint, recover after the surgery, and only then will the doctors be able to operate on the right knee. The surgery itself is free of charge for me, but a high-quality hip joint endoprosthesis needs to be purchased independently. I cannot pay for it on my own. That is why I am compelled to ask for help.

I am from the fortress city of Kharkiv. At the beginning of March 2022 I voluntarily joined the 127th TDF Brigade. In the first year of the war I fought first in the infantry and later as a gunner in a mortar battery. I participated in combat operations in Kharkiv and the oblast, and fought near Bakhmut. Later I managed to transfer to the Airborne Assault Forces — to the 78th Separate Airborne Assault Regiment "Herts." At the end of October 2023, during combat duty shifts at the firing position near Mala Tokmachka, I was wounded. It was night, and I was on duty with a radio in anticipation of combat work. I heard the outgoing fire of enemy artillery… A second — and it seemed to me that I had fallen asleep... Darkness alternated with dreams, memories, and unclear images... Fragments shattered the humerus and radius of my left arm, partially crushed the elbow, tore out a great deal of muscle, severed the thumb, and crushed the bones of the palm. On the left leg, most of the quadriceps was torn out, and there was a closed fracture of the ankle. On the right arm, part of the middle finger was severed. The skull bones were fractured, and I sustained a second-degree traumatic brain injury. Burns and fragments covered my entire body. I also sustained extensive damage to the nervous and lymphatic systems in the left limbs. The treatment was difficult and lasted almost a year. I underwent 19 surgeries on my leg and arms. I was taught to walk again, my basic adaptation and self-care skills were restored. This was a difficult and painful path of recovery. In recent years I have been constantly engaged in rehabilitation and adaptation — both independently and with the help of rehabilitation specialists. The minimum task is to adapt to civilian life, master a new profession, the maximum task — I want to prepare to return to my fellow soldiers. And for this I need to learn to run again, jump, balance, squat, and maximally restore the functionality of my left arm. Recently I found the "Markiv Rehab" rehabilitation center. And for me this became a new hope. I heard things that were very important to me: my left arm is capable of more. The leg is capable of compensating for the absence of part of the muscles, and I can work toward running again.

In 2024 I voluntarily joined the Defense Forces of Ukraine. During this time I participated in combat operations in the Donetsk and Sumy directions. On March 14, in the Pokrovsk direction, during a rotation, my three fellow soldiers and I came under attack from an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle. I have a severe injury to my left leg: lacerated wounds, fractures of the femur, and numerous fragments in both lower limbs. I survived, and now my fight continues in rehabilitation. My main task today is to restore the functioning of the knee joint and the leg as a whole. I am currently undergoing recovery at the "Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center" of the NCSPI. The first course has already been completed. In one month I was able to completely give up crutches. But much work still lies ahead to restore mobility to the leg. That is why the rehabilitation needs to continue. Unfortunately, I cannot manage on my own, so I am compelled to ask for help.

Denys Denysov
I am the mother of Senior Lieutenant Denys Denysov. In 2020 Denys graduated from the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Forces. That same year he signed a contract and began his service as a senior aviation technician as part of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade, known as the "Ghost of Kyiv." From the first days of the full-scale invasion, my son carried out combat missions. On July 10, 2025, the enemy was conducting a massive combined missile attack on the airfield. While carrying out a combat mission, Denys together with a fellow soldier was in a shelter when an enemy "Shahed" struck it directly… My son sustained extremely severe combined injuries: flame burns of degree IIA–IIB covering 12% of the body surface, burns to both thighs and hands, to the upper and lower respiratory tract, acubarotrauma, damage to both eyes and to the cornea of the left eye. Due to carbon monoxide poisoning, cerebral edema developed. Denys was in a coma, connected to a mechanical ventilator. A tracheotomy was performed on him. Due to severe intoxication from combustion products, kidney problems began, followed by pneumonia and sinusitis. He received nutrition through intravenous drips, underwent surgeries, numerous surgical treatments, and autodermoplasty of the burn wounds. My son spent two months in intensive care… And my Denys survived…
Then came seven months of rehabilitation. Denys learned to sit, to correctly transfer from the bed to the wheelchair, to wash in the shower, to eat independently, to speak, to write. For a healthy person these are simple things that they never even think about. And for my son each of them became a great achievement, behind which lie incredible efforts. Today Denys is already speaking a little. The consequences of the wound remain very severe.But despite everything he has been through, my son has the desire to move forward. What Denys wants most of all is to become independent, to return to activity, to learn to work, to start a family, to be a support for his loved ones. For this he needs specialized long-term rehabilitation at the "AGAPE" rehabilitation center.

The centre has many years of practical experience in prosthetics. Since 2014 the institution has been engaged in prosthetics for the ukrainian military, using the world's leading prosthetics technologies, conducting rehabilitation programs, manufacturing any prostheses of the upper and lower limbs at any level of amputation using quality components from global manufacturers — Otto Bock ( Germany), Fillauer (USA), Touch Bionics (Great Britain).
An All-Ukrainian modern centre for prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation and psychological support for adults and children affected by war. The first stage of the centre was opened on 14 April 2023. The centre will employ more than sixty medical specialists. It is planned to treat about 3,000 patients annually. Superhumans uses a comprehensive approach to treatment and seeks to change the perception and psychological approach to Ukrainians who have suffered complex injuries and lost limbs. The prostheses will be manufactured and assembled in-house - the prosthetics laboratory was created with the participation of the leading German company Ottobock. The rehabilitation department has a large swimming pool and multifunctional physical therapy equipment.
Kyiv Institute of Rehabilitation is an outpatient rehabilitation facility aimed at providing a range of rehabilitation measures aimed at restoring a person's resources and returning him or her to a normal lifestyle, taking into account his or her personal potential. The clinic's activities are implemented through the involvement of a multidisciplinary team working in the following areas: orthopaedics, traumatology, neurology, cardiology, psychological assistance. Since May 2022, the clinic has been actively implementing rehabilitation of war victims.
