My name is Pavlo, call sign DOSHCH (meaning RAIN). I am a career soldier, staff sergeant, commander of an armoured vehicle repair platoon. I served in the Repair and Maintenance Battalion of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.
I have been in the military since 2013. At first, I did conscript service, then entered the Lviv Army Academy to study to become a sergeant, after which I joined the 128th Brigade. And all my further service was with this unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

I chose military service as a profession because of the russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2014. It was after that that I decided to defend Ukraine, realised that I could be useful to the army and stayed in the army.

On the 14th of September, 2023, on my way back from a mission of repairing two armoured personnel carriers in Donetsk region, I got into an accident. A civilian car driven by a drunk driver ran into us. In this accident, I suffered fractures of several ribs, of upper and lower limbs, a head injury, injuries to my eye, chest, abdomen, etc.

But the biggest problem was the fractures of the pelvis of the left hip joint. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to restore it. The only possible solution was total arthroplasty. Only the replacement of the joint with an artificial one (Medacta endoprosthesis, Switzerland) will allow me to walk on my own and return to military service.
Despite the severity of my injuries, I am already making plans for my post-prosthetic life. My only dream is to recover as soon as possible and return to military service to join my comrades in arms to fight for the victory together!
