I am 38 years old. I am married and have a daughter.
I was first mobilised to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2015. I joined the 92nd Ivan Sirko Brigade. I took part in the battles for Shchastia and Stanytsia Luhanska settlements. Then got demobilised in 2016.

I faced the full-scale invasion at home in Poltava region. I was mobilised on the 17th of May, 2022. And was assigned to the 58th Ivan Vyhovskyi Motorised Infantry Brigade. During my service, we held positions in the Bakhmut, Kupiansk, and Lyman directions. We also visited the Serebryansky forest.

On 22.09.2022 I received a contusion. On 03.11.2022 - two bullets into one leg. And on 24.09.2023, my company arrived in the area of a combat mission on the outskirts of the village of Pavlivka near Vuhledar. Since it was already dark, orientation and visibility were limited. We split into small groups and started spreading out along the bushy area. A group of our brothers in arms lost their bearings and started moving in the wrong direction. I went after them to bring them along.
At that time, enemy artillery and mortar fire started, it was adjusted by a large number of enemy UAVs flying directly above us. The shells hit a few metres away from us. After one of these hits, I felt severe pain in my legs and pelvis, and realised that my fellow soldiers were killed.
I put a tourniquet on myself, drank some medicines that I managed to find. I felt unbearable pain, I wanted to unscrew the tourniquet and bleed to death, but I remembered that I had promised to call my wife.
After having waited out the shelling, I crawled into the bushy area to my other comrades. From there, a comrade dragged me on his back, covered me with branches to hide me from enemy UAVs and left me waiting for medics.
Then we were evacuated: Bohoiavlenka - Kurakhove - Pokrovsk. There I lost consciousness....
I opened my eyes in Mechnikov hospital. I saw my wife. She said she only had information that I was lightly wounded. The military unit lost track of me in Pokrovsk, and that then she searched for me with the help of volunteers. She found me in the intensive care unit on a lung ventilator in an unstable condition with a diagnosis of mine-blast trauma. As a result of which, I have exarticulation of the left hip joint. Simply put, amputation of the entire leg with hip disarticulation.
Endless surgeries, wound cleaning, and anaesthesias began, from which I had a hard time recovering.
Then - a medical institution in Kyiv followed, where the same procedures were performed in different departments of the hospital - intensive care, traumatology, surgery. Later, shrapnel and a pelvic fracture were discovered.

Now I am undergoing rehabilitation in Lviv and need expensive prosthetics, for which the funds allocated by the state are not sufficient. That's why I have to ask for help from a charity, because to get a functional prosthesis, I need to pay extra.
I dream of continuing to lead an active lifestyle, just like before my injury.
