Soldier Oleksii, call sign Ad-voKat

Here's a short story that has become an integral part of my life.

Year 2022, February 23rd, my daughter's birthday, family celebrations and everyone being happy. In this good mood, my family spent the evening of the 23rd; but we faced the morning of February 24th with hatred - the first morning of the full-scale invasion of my country by the russians - to the sounds of enemy aircraft and the explosions of enemy missiles.

For several weeks, I was waiting in a long queue at the military registration and enlistment office and finally managed to get in and get assigned to a military unit - this is how my journey to the defence of Ukraine in the ranks of the National Guard began, against the armed aggression of the country "404".

According to the orders, I was assigned to protect the (OVDO) especially important state facilities. After the opening of enlistment, I voluntarily transferred to the "Kara-Dag" 15th brigade with the aim of being helpful in hindering the advance of enemy troops deep into our country. I took up the position of a squad commander (assault group commander).

Taking direct part in defensive and offensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia direction, I got injured. After examination, doctors diagnosed bilateral coxarthrosis of the 2nd stage. Treatment did not yield positive results. The condition of my left hip joint deteriorated to stage 3.

Due to the persistent pain syndrome, a concomitant disease - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (severe stage), and age, doctors insisted on the need for surgery and replacement of the left hip joint. Now I need endoprosthetics.

I turned to the Citizen Foundation for help because we have a common goal, and maybe even a dream - to do our best so that tomorrow would come for each and every Ukrainian!

COLLECTED AND TRANSFERRED: UAH 95,000
