Soldier Iurii Rozhuk, call sign COSMOS

I, major Iurii (Petrovych) Rozhuk, call sign Cosmos, am an instructor training artillery units of the A4150 military unit. I was born in the town of Iavoriv to a family of military personnel, so it didn't take me long to choose my future profession. I have been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2001, took part in combat operations in the Joint Forces Operation in 2018 as part of the 24th separate mechanised brigade in the Horlivka sector of Donetsk region. 

From the 24th of February till the end of March 2022, I took an active part in the defence of Kyiv (Bucha, Hostomel, Moshchun) as a member of the 214th Special OPFOR Battalion.

Due to the constant and numerous injuries, overloads and hypothermia which I received during combat operations and during the training of artillery units at training ranges and training centres, I developed a disease that resulted in the destruction of my hip joints with significant musculoskeletal disorders. No conservative treatment methods help, and the only solution to the problem is total right hip replacement.

I dream of recovery and returning to service to continue passing on my combat experience to future defenders of Ukraine and to contribute to the training of artillery units for our speedy victory over the enemy.
