REHABILITATION OF SOLDIERS WITH AMPUTATIONS IN COOPERATION WITH THE HALYCHYNA REHABILITATION CENTRE

The Citizen Charitable Foundation continues to support the rehabilitation of seriously wounded soldiers. 7 defenders with amputations need our help in paying for an additional course of rehabilitation.
The state non-profit enterprise "Halychyna Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre" has twenty years of experience in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to people with disabilities.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Centre has been providing assistance to a large number of wounded soldiers, most of whom have lost their limbs.

Our Cyborgs have complex limb amputations, and have been struggling with neuromas and other related health problems for a long time. In this regard, for the successful completion of prosthetics, rehabilitation and learning to use the prosthesis, it is necessary to provide them with an additional rehabilitation course, which will include
- consultations with doctors (FRM, neurologist, orthopedist, physical therapist, psychologist/psychotherapist)
- massages of the stump (amputated limb), scar;
- individual sessions with a physical therapist (exercise therapy, kinesitherapy);
- classes to master the skills of using a prosthesis;
- mechanotherapy (exercise bike);
- sessions with an occupational therapist;
- manual mobilisation of joints;
- aquatic exercises;
- hospital stay (accommodation and 3 meals a day).

Thanks to our common support, we are able to provide our defenders with comfortable conditions and high-quality rehabilitation that will allow them to recover from serious injuries and return to active civilian life.

We paid for an additional 21-day rehabilitation course for soldier Andriy, call sign KUM.

Andriy underwent the last surgery to remove his neuroma at the end of September 2023, which significantly delayed the prosthesis and increased the rehabilitation period.

Prosthetists have already made a receiving sleeve for the prosthesis. Now the patient has some time to adapt to it for painless use of the prosthesis. The prosthetics are expected to be completed soon.

We paid for a 14-day additional rehabilitation course at the HALYCHYNA Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre for defender Oleksiy, which allowed the soldier to complete his prosthetics and master the prosthesis.

Oleksiy has an amputation above the elbow joint. The soldier went through a difficult path of prosthetics, to improve the fixation of the prosthesis, specialists changed the construction and used a silicone liner with a locking mechanism. In connection with this, an additional comprehensive course of medical and physical rehabilitation was required according to an individual programme. It helped to improve Oleksiy's physical condition and had a positive impact on his skills in using the prosthesis.
