In June 2024, four wounded soldiers completed rehabilitation at the Zakhidnyi Rehabilitation and Sports Centre of the National Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine as part of the Cyborgs Rehabilitation program.
ANATOLII ZHUMIK, call sign VNUCHOK
On 9 June 2023, in the Luhansk region, on the outskirts of Dibrova village, during a combat mission, he came under mortar attack and sustained a severe spinal injury. He underwent several surgeries in Dnipro, then was treated in Kyiv.

With the financial support of the Citizen Charitable Foundation, he underwent a 6-month rehabilitation course at the Zakhidnyi Rehabilitation and Sports Centre of the National Institute of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

During his rehabilitation, he went all the way from the moment of injury to full awareness of himself and his future life as an active wheelchair user with the appropriate mastery of all the necessary skills to ensure a full and functional independent life and self-care. Moreover, the defender has completely moved on from the rehabilitation process and integrated into professional cross-country skiing and biathlon in the sitting class in the Ukrainian Paralympic national team.
VLADYSLAV SYROTA call sign SAMURAI
On 05 April, 2023, he performed a combat mission in the territory of the Koksokhim plant in Avdiivka. As a result of enemy shelling with guided bomb units, he sustained a mine-blast injury to the cervical spine at the level of the C-6 and C-7 discs, a fracture-dislocation of the 6th cervical vertebra and spinal cord contusion.

The rehabilitation goals have been achieved! Overall endurance increased, physical fitness improved, fine motor function and grip strength in the hands increased, and walking and running improved.
IURII KOVTUN, call sign PYSAR (meaning WRITER)
On 3 October, 2023, while defending the positions, he came under heavy artillery fire and sustained a severe spinal injury. Enemy shrapnel pierced his spinal cord, lung and broke a rib. The defender was evacuated to Dnipro. At Mechnikov Hospital, he underwent surgery and had the fragments removed. Then his rehabilitation began.

Thanks to the rehabilitation, his skills in using a wheelchair of the active type improved. Iurii learned to overcome various obstacles and move on rough surfaces. According to a neuropsychologist, Iurii is now ready to successfully accomplish everyday tasks and engage in productive social activities.
DMYTRO RYBACHENKO, call sign RYBA
On 7 March 2022, in the city of Bakhmut, he came under mortar attack and was seriously injured: multiple gunshot shrapnel injuries to the chest, severe spinal cord contusion at the level of T-11, closed head injury, etc.
