Why financial support for prosthetics of veterans from charitable organizations is critical?
Vadym Svyrydenko, the President's Commissioner for the Rehabilitation of Combatants and Ambassador of the "CITIZEN" charitable foundation, addresses this problem:
"With the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor, the prices for components for prostheses have increased tremendously. The Ukrainian government provides war veterans with prostheses; but this happens only within the price range for these items defined by law. Unfortunately, quite often these funds are insufficient to cover the price of modern prosthetics, and this is where benefactors‘ help turns vital.
Given the lack of funding, as a war veteran whose time has come to replace the prostheses of both my upper limbs, I have had to turn to the CITIZEN charitable foundation of which I am an ambassador. Their support was critical and I received it. I am so very grateful to them for this.
Today, the Accounting Chamber and the Fund of the Ministry of Social Policy are conducting an audit across the country regarding the appropriate provision and financing of prosthetics for Ukrainian citizens to fix prices that correspond to market prices."
We want to thank Mr. Vadim for his support and his work in resolving prosthetics issues for military personnel in Ukraine.
