I was first mobilised in March 2015 to the military unit 3005. I served there until April 2016. Then was discharged and continued to live a normal life, working, raising two sons with my wife.
The next day after the full-scale russian invasion, on the 25th of February 2022, I volunteered to join the same unit. During an assault, the enemy covered us with mortar fire.
For the rest of my life, I will always remember how that unfortunate 80 mm calibre mine arrived. It clearly landed under my right leg. After the explosion, I was conscious the whole time. The guys who were with me at the positions provided first aid and put tourniquets on my legs. Next followed a difficult and lengthy evacuation to the hospital in Lyman. Then Kramatorsk.
I regained consciousness in Dnipro at Mechnikov Hospital without my legs. My both lower limbs were amputated above the knee.

I saw my wife next to me, who has been with me constantly since then. Together we moved to the Pirogov Hospital in Vinnytsia. With her by my side I underwent several more surgeries, rehabilitation and prosthetics. And now we have returned to our native Kharkiv.

At home, we are starting life anew, adjusting to the new circumstances. Now I need to equip my bathroom for regular hygiene procedures. First of all, I will need a swivel seat for the bathroom, a wide, non-slip bariatric shower chair, and MEDOK double bath footstool with a handrail.

I understand that there will be more needs, but I need to start with the most important things. I am already making plans for the future, I want to return to work, where they are waiting for me. Step by step, I am returning to active civilian life in the new circumstances.

CF Citizen has equipped Serhii's bathroom with all necessary facilities for comfortable use.
The next step is to purchase a Compact active wheelchair.
The house where the Serhii lives has a narrow lift, which a standard wheelchair cannot enter, so his son carries him out of the building in his arms.
Serhii asked for help in purchasing a new wheelchair, which will be manufactured at a factory specifically for his parameters and needs. It will be very lightweight and mobile, with minimum dimensions to fit into the lift.

Double amputation is not a verdict! Serhii continues to prove this every day, but his active lifestyle requires reliable support. Previously, our defender Serhii, call sign HAISHNІK, received a specialized wheelchair thanks to your support. This wheelchair not only assists him in daily life but also enables him to achieve sports milestones and participate in competitions.

However, due to heavy use, the tires wore out and urgently needed replacement.
Thanks to our collective efforts, we were able to purchase new tires and inner tubes for Serhii’s wheelchair, ensuring he can continue moving forward without obstacles.
Your support is not just material assistance—it is also faith in our heroes who fight for an active future despite their injuries.
Thank you for helping!
