My name is Tetiana, my comrades gifted me with the call sign TANCHYK (meaning “Little Tank”). I am 38 years old. In 2016, I was involved in a car accident, as a result of which I received numerous serious injuries, including the amputation of a lower part of my left leg.
During the lengthy treatment (about two years), I often happened to communicate with wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After that, I drastically changed my views on the occupation of the Crimea and
the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. During prosthetics and rehabilitation, the guys inspired me with a passion to live without restrictions. Many of them returned to military service. And I joined the volunteer movement, helping little by little, doing what I could.
And with the start of the full-scale invasion, I had an overwhelming urge to contribute to the defence of my homeland, but my amputation was an obstacle. At the end of February 2022, I took my son out of Ukraine because I did not understand how the terrible events would develop. I returned home immediately. For more than a year, I was beating down the doorsteps of military enlistment offices, but I kept hearing that a woman with a prosthesis had no place in the army.

But I did not give up!
And in the summer of 2023, with all the hard efforts, I finally managed to get mobilised to the Armed Forces. I am currently serving as part of the medical company of the 126th Territorial Defence Forces Brigade, which has been taking part in combat operations in the southern part of Ukraine since December 2022.

However, due to excessive loads, my prosthetic foot has damaged, and now I need to have it replaced immediately. Unfortunately, in combat conditions, such equipment quickly fails.
Now I dream of one thing: Victory, so that my child can return home to the free, independent and flourishing Ukraine!

Tetiana is a brave woman who has been defending Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. Her strength and courage inspire everyone who knows her story. But today, she needs our support.
Tetiana relies on a prosthetic that enables her to fulfill her duties even under the most challenging conditions. However, due to excessive military strain, the liner of her prosthetic has worn out sooner than the state can provide a replacement. Without a specialized silicone liner, the prosthetic cannot be used, making not only her continued service impossible but also her everyday activities.
Therefore, Tetiana needs two Ottobock liners at once to avoid such risks in the future. After all, a spare liner is a guarantee that Tatyana will be mobile and efficient at any time.

The fundraiser for two prosthetic liners for defender Tetiana is closed! Thanks to your support, the necessary liners have been purchased and delivered to Tetiana. She continues her service — and it became possible because of you.
On behalf of the foundation and personally from Tetiana, we sincerely thank everyone who contributed. Once again, you have proven that our home front is strong, and unity is our strength.
Together, we are not only helping with recovery, we’re enabling a return to duty.
TANCHYK sends hugs and gratitude to everyone.
