Soldier Serhii, DIAK-S

My name is Serhii, call sign DIAK-S. 
I was born on 18 July 1979 in the village of Hannopil, Tulchyn district, Vinnytsia region. I am a driver by profession.

In September 2014, I was mobilised to the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone, where I served until October 2015. During my deployment to the ATO zone, I was wounded in May 2015: while performing a combat mission, I came under artillery fire near the city of Lysychansk.

I sustained a fourth degree gunshot burn wound of the soft tissues of the lower third of the shin and foot of the left leg. I underwent four skin transplant operations between May and August 2015.

On 01.03.2022, I was mobilised to the territorial military operation unit of Tulchyn district, Vinnytsia region. Since 02.02.2023, I have been on service in the Chornobyl border zone until now.

The first pain symptoms appeared 6 months ago, the right hip joint began to hurt. I visited a doctor in September 2023 when my walking function got impaired. After an examination, the doctors established the diagnosis and recommended replacing the right hip joint. 

Endoprosthetics is the only way to get rid of the constant pain that prevents me from not only performing combat missions, but also from living a normal life. That's why I turned to the charity foundation for help.

I dream about the operation and returning to service as soon as possible, to defend the Ukrainian sky!
