I, Petro Pushkar, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, call sign Tsyhan (meaning Gypsy), was born on 29.03.1989 in the Zhytomyr region, Krasnoarmiysk district, in Velykyi Luh village.
I was mobilised for the first time in 2015, got into the 4th wave of mobilisation. I served for a year and was discharged. But soon I returned to the army again, because I clearly understood that the war was ongoing and I had to defend my homeland. In 2017, I signed a contract with the 30th Separate Mechanised Brigade named in honour of Kniaz Kostiantyn Ostrovskyi. After the contract expired, I was discharged in 2019.

After the full-scale invasion, I was immediately ready to defend my native Ukraine. At that time, I already had extensive military experience and understood where I could be useful. On 04.03.2022, I was officially mobilised. I immediately joined my dear 30th Separate Mechanised Brigade as a machine gunner. I took part in battles in the settlements of Krasna Hora, Popasna, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Chasiv Yar, Marianka, Vodiane among others.

On 14.03.2023 I was wounded near the village of Fedorivna Druha, Bakhmut district. My comrades and I (there were four of us) were in a hideout, when a 152-calibre shell came and hit us directly in the dugout. As a result, three of us survived, one of us was killed. That day, I lost my left limb and suffered a complex fracture of the left hip. First aid was provided by my comrade Vitalii with the call sign "Grek" (meaning Greek). His accurate and well-coordinated actions saved my life.
Now I am in the St Panteleimon Hospital in Lviv. I have to undergo prosthetics at the Halychyna Centre for Comprehensive Rehabilitation.

However, prosthetics of the lower limb will be possible only after arthroplasty. As a result of a serious hip injury, I need immediate replacement of the hip joint. And only after the surgery and rehabilitation will I be able to get the prosthesis and return to an active lifestyle.
COLLECTED: UAH 95,000
Volodymyr was provided with an artificial hip joint at state expense. He is now recovering and undergoing rehabilitation.
All the money raised for Volodymyr's endoprosthetic surgery was redirected to other soldiers under the care of the Citizen Charitable Foundation.
