Yuriy Kasakhovskyi, a captain of the National Police of Ukraine

I, Yuriy Kasakhovskyi, am a captain of the Special Forces unit of the National Police of Ukraine.

In 2014, I joined a volunteer battalion, which was later reformed into the Chernihiv Special Forces Company. This unit consisted mostly of guys who had participated in the Maidan Uprising.  

During my first rotation, I was deployed to Stanytsia Luhanska (the line of demarcation between the territory controlled by Ukraine and the occupied Luhansk region). In 2015, our unit was relocated to Donetsk Oblast.

In 2018, I was awarded the Order of the Volunteer Cross.

The full-scale invasion caught me in Mariupol. And in March 2022, we were transferred to another, equally intense, line. 
 

Since 2014, I have been defending my homeland from the invader. But, unfortunately, I have recently developed problems with my hip joints, which arose as a result of the stresses of service. Now I need a complete hip replacement of both hip joints.

I am confident that after the arthroplasty I will get rid of this terrible pain and will be able to perform my military duties with renewed vigour, defending my cherished Ukraine.
 

All these years I have been dreaming of victory! As soon as we defeat the enemy, I will definitely go with my family to travel around our beautiful homeland, visit the most remote corners of our Motherland.

WE ARE PREPARING FOR TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT OF BOTH HIP JOINTS.

On 8 June 2023, surgeons successfully performed arthroplasty on my right leg. 
I have already undergone rehabilitation and am ready for arthroplasty of the left hip joint. 
The severe pain prevents me from moving freely and living a normal life. Postponing the operation only aggravates the problem.

Doctors are ready to operate in early October. The positive experience of right hip arthroplasty increases hope for a full life without limitations and pain.
