My name is Ruslan, I was born in 1987. I have always known that it is necessary to defend one's country, no one but us can do it. From 2014 to 2019, I volunteered and financially supported the Ukrainian army. In 2019, I signed a contract and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During my military service, I performed various combat missions in several directions of the frontline. Since the full-scale invasion, I was wounded three times: in March, I received shrapnel wounds to my head and leg near Volnovakha, and in April, I sustained a contusion in Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Each time I was treated, quickly recovered and immediately returned to perform combat missions with my unit.
On September 6th, 2022, in the city of Siversk, I found myself under fire and was seriously wounded, namely, had a long-term compression syndrome and a tear of the right foot in the Lisfranc area. I am grateful to my comrades who provided first aid and promptly evacuated me to the hospital. I am grateful to the doctors for their professionalism. Unfortunately, I still lost a part of my foot.
And now I need a special orthosis that will allow me to move freely and feel no constraints while walking.
