Soldier Dmytro, call sign TIAZHIK

I have been a volunteer since the first days of the full-scale invasion and was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 26, 2022. I joined the service because every self-respecting citizen must defend and protect the integrity and sovereignty of their Motherland.

For over two years, I defended my country on the Donetsk and Kharkiv fronts. During this time, I was wounded several times, but after treatment, I immediately returned to my unit.

On June 2, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the Kharkiv region, I was wounded by an FPV drone strike, damaging my lumbar spine at the L4-L5 level. This led to the formation of a sequestrated hernia, causing constant lower back pain, leg pain, and numbness in my lower limbs.

According to the doctors, the only solution to the problem is surgery to install a transpedicular fixation system with a cage to replace the intervertebral disc in the lumbar spine. This needs to be done as soon as possible due to the high risk of negative consequences that could lead to leg paralysis.

The surgery is free, but the system needs to be purchased, and I am appealing to benefactors for help with this.

After treatment and recovery, I plan to return to my comrades and continue serving and protecting my homeland.

hanks to the help of our foundation, a spinal fixation system was purchased and the surgery was successfully performed.

We wish Dmytro a speedy recovery!

Thank you all for your support and sharing!
