
In Kharkiv, military personnel who sustained amputations, musculoskeletal injuries and limb injuries will be able to receive rehabilitation services on an inpatient basis at the Ukrainian Scientific and Clinical Centre for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation (USCC) and on an outpatient basis at the Fortis Medical and Rehabilitation Centre.
The combination of the experience of two professional teams is a unique model of cooperation between medical and public partnerships, which ensures a multidisciplinary approach and provides our defenders with the most effective and professional rehabilitation.
Ukrainian Scientific and Clinical Centre for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation has many years of experience in prosthetics and rehabilitation of people after amputations and unique equipment that helps restore or improve lost functions after the loss of limbs.
The Institute has been actively engaged in prosthetics for the military since 2014. Its specialists have developed and are successfully implementing a full cycle of prosthetics and rehabilitation, and have an effective programme to help patients adapt to life after injury.
The Rehabilitation for Cyborgs programme has been successfully operating at the Fortis Medical and Rehabilitation Centre since 2023.
The centre employs an experienced team of rehabilitation therapists who use proven protocols and innovative methods and have modern rehabilitation equipment. Each case is reviewed by a multidisciplinary team, including a neurologist, orthopaedic traumatologist, and rehabilitation therapist. An important emphasis is placed on psychological support. The centre employs an experienced psychologist who has been working with the military since 2014.
