42.5 km in a wheelchair — for the sake of those who are only beginning their path of recovery. On September 20, 2026, in Dnipro, veteran Anatolii Zhumik will take the starting line of a marathon

In June 2023, during a mortar shelling in Luhansk Oblast, Anatolii sustained a severe wound. A mortar fragment damaged his spine.

Then came evacuation, surgeries, hospitals, months of rehabilitation and a new life in a wheelchair.

But definitely not a life on pause.

On the path of recovery, the Citizen Charity Foundation was by Tolik’s side. Today Anatolii is an athlete and a member of the Paralympic national team of Ukraine in cross-country skiing and biathlon.

This year he also mastered kayaking — and has already become the champion of Ukraine in his category.

He trains, competes, and continues to set new goals for himself.

And now he has decided to cover 42.5 km in a wheelchair not only for the sake of a sporting result. This marathon has a charitable goal: to support 10 seriously wounded defenders who are currently undergoing rehabilitation and recovery after extremely severe combat wounds. Once we helped Tolik walk his path.

Now Tolik is taking to the course to help others walk theirs.

42.5 km — that is a lot!

But the path after a severe wound is often much longer.

That is why on September 20 let us cheer for Tolik and together let us turn every kilometer he covers into help for those who need it right now.

GOAL: 1,000,000 UAH
